The purpose of my artistry and hope is that people from all walks of life will be able to find a sliver of their “Personal Truth” contained in the music I present and leave more lifted than when they entered the space. If you come from a spiritual background or even if it's not your vibe, there will be “Universal Truth” woven in every note and phrase that will pluck your heartstrings.
Fulfilling a diving request prayed by my mother, I arrived on the planetary scene with a song in my spirit and I have been performing from the time I could speak.
I learned my first songs and sang my first solos in the Junior Choir at Second Baptist Church in Richmond, VA.
I would learn to read music from Hymn Books while participating in weekly “prayer meeting” services.
It wasn’t until I began studying Classical Flute and Music Instruction at Greene Elementary School (Richmond, VA) that I began to see the connection between the music sang in church and the notes on the sheet music page. Out of State band competitions and concerts would become a part of my life almost every weekend out of the year.
At the tender age of 8, I was mentored and became the youngest choir director at First Union Baptist Church directing both youth and adult vocal choirs/ensembles. These vocal groups would perform all over the city as part of services and other gospel music collaborations.
At age 12, I had the opportunity to perform all over the State of Virginia as a special guest soloist of the Governor performing “The Star Spangled Banner” and other patriotic songs. His appearances would include the opening of The Virginia State Public Library and other political functions.
At age 13, I became the PowerHouse Youth Group Worship/Band Leader and member of the NLOI Youth Choir. I took part in national/international tours with this group and, eventually, be a featured vocalist on my first studio recording.
As I continued to grow in my music, I became Director of the Richmond Community High School Gospel Ensemble and would travel throughout the city performing/directing this group. High school also brought about participation in statewide vocal competitions
(All State and District Choruses).
After being accepted into Lee University, I joined the Lee University Campus Choir and Power Unlimited Vocal Ensemble. Out of this, I had the opportunity to perform as a soloist on various worldwide television broadcasts (TBN, INSP, DayStar Networks) and studio recordings (SpiritSound Music, Brentwood Benson Publishing Group) while touring all over the contiguous 48 states at camp meetings, church services and other large venues.
Following University, I made my official professional debut in 2007 performing multiple contracts aboard cruise ships for two of the leading cruise vacation companies in the world (Royal Caribbean & Carnival Entertainment). While sailing the Caribbean, I honed my creative talents by co-producing small scale revues to be performed to the onboard guests.
I also have had the joy of performing the role of Tom Collins in staged production of RENT: The Rock Musical introducing the state of Wyoming to this transformational piece of art. I was “ broken open by the role” and was reinvigorated by my participation in this groundbreaking opportunity in Cheyenne, WY.
I was last seen performing for SeaWorld Entertainment as a Vocal Performance Swing fulfilling up to 6 different stage acting roles per day performing for thousands of guests per season.
I have been leading Love City Arts Collective as Founding Curator. Love City Arts Collective (LCAC) is an Arts Service Organization. This rotation of Collaborative Artists & Community Members gathers to hold space and build community through music, art, and the spoken word.
Weaving the arts together in a beautiful “tapestry of sound”, I perform the stylings of Inspirational Pop, R&B, Soul, A cappella, Jazz and Musical Theater pieces with heartfelt and soulful passion.
I can’t wait to celebrate my love of music and gifts with you.
